McLaren F1 XP4
The McLaren F1 XP4; the ultimate sports car.
It is the fastest sports car in the world.
It's world record run is recorded at 241.14mph (388.08 kph).
The fastest of the two speeds averaged to obtain the official record
(which required a top speed test in both directions due to wind interference)
was 391 kph (243 mph).
As of this writing, March 2004, all claims of the McLaren F1's
fastest production sports car title being defeated are false.
The Ferrari Enzo has never been pushed that fast.
Koenigsegg CC's rumored 242mph run in Gumball 3000 is by no means official
and is more than likely false.
Bugatti's 1001hp Veyron 16/4's claimed 406 km/h top speed has never been verified
and there has been rumors that it is unstable before it reaches McLaren F1's record.
